it's been a while

and when i say a while, i mean three weeks. and sadly, it's taken a lot of silly little encouragement from myself to actually get back into posting. not because i don't enjoy it, because i do. but my list of things i've forgotten to document have began to overwhelm me. i'm being completely silly but i'm jumping back in, full force.

so for tomorrow i'll give a very picturesque update of our life as of lately. the last three weeks have consisted of craziness, real craziness. summertime is treating us well over here and it's barely june. we just pulled in last night after a short trip to husbands other true love: lake powell and it was a treat. this photo really doesn't do justice of how beautiful it was neither does this photo make being back in the "grind" much easier. so for now long live summertime. because what's not to love?

"i'm the king of new york"

it doesn't matter how many times i've been to the big apple, i always come back amazed
i'll share more thoughts later with you, a time where i am not so completely exhausted.
i can't recall a time in my life where my feet hurt worse, i really can't.
funny stories to tell and memories to relive over and over again.

but for now we are at the jfk airport, waiting for our flight to board
while downloading newsies the movie on the computer.
because we were lucky duckies and won lottery tickets for newsies broadway and now we are obsessed to say the least.

i'm dreaming of it right now and can't stop singing the tunes out loud
(and we may or may have not been dancing on the streets of nyc ever since)
which is a good thing considering i have a 5.5 hour flight ahead with the sissy club.

take me out to the ball game

yesterday we celebrated the beginning of summer. you see the mr. has been out of school for about a week, but oh so sadly will be beginning yet another semester on monday. i'm proud of that man i tell you, i know he is duhhreading the fact that he will be in school during summertime but he is being quite pleasant about it. so back to summer, we celebrated with class and style with baseball and ice cream and somewhere in there was a very mustachey mustache. welcome to may in our family ladies and gents.

such is the love i have for my husband that i have agreed to attend baseball games and allow hairy faces, oh the grandeur. when the mr. asked if ice cream was necessary, i responded politely with a firm yes and gallivanted off to buy my $5.75 cone, in which i could purchase two gallons of ice cream at the store. but its all it the celebration. ice cream at a ball game for me is about as necessary as mustaches for the husband in may. tomato, tomatah.

we had a grand old time, take me out to the ball game at seventh inning stretch and all. oh and they won, yes they won in the very last moment of the ninth inning. happy summer husband.

summer re.cap

may: lake powell over memorial day with some fun couples
brooke graduated. may 6, 2011. yes yes yes
jake took his first bite out of the "big apple." toured the city and loved it.
brooke took many bites while going back to jake's mission to visit
(seriously we ate more food in one visit then i've ever done on a trip before and that is saying a. lot)
boating.
june: mitch and maile were married. it was a b-e-a-utiful event.
lake powell with the cook family and the neighborhood clan. no accidents this time. yipee!
boating and bbq's.
tennis
july: celebrated our 1 year anniversary. it was a night to remember for a number of reasons but one thing that must be documented: i made a mistake of ordering lobster not knowing that it would be a 2.75 lb lobster thinking when i ordered i would just get 1 lb for $30 like the menu had said. Nope, not the case. $180 dollars later for a meal for two. jake couldn't have loved me more eek. other then that it was a great day and we have so much to be grateful for.
Oakley Rodeo
Sun Valley. Oh and did I mention I met Oprah?
Couples boating/camping trip. Definitely a must do again.
Laguna Beach with the Curtis'. heaven on earth.
more boating.

august: Megan and Hunt seal the deal. finally!
Pool time with friends while husbands go golfing.
Football Games. love love love.

i'll just conclude that summer vacations are so wonderful when you are married and lucky for us we have the best families to share them with.
