take me out to the ball game

yesterday we celebrated the beginning of summer. you see the mr. has been out of school for about a week, but oh so sadly will be beginning yet another semester on monday. i'm proud of that man i tell you, i know he is duhhreading the fact that he will be in school during summertime but he is being quite pleasant about it. so back to summer, we celebrated with class and style with baseball and ice cream and somewhere in there was a very mustachey mustache. welcome to may in our family ladies and gents.

such is the love i have for my husband that i have agreed to attend baseball games and allow hairy faces, oh the grandeur. when the mr. asked if ice cream was necessary, i responded politely with a firm yes and gallivanted off to buy my $5.75 cone, in which i could purchase two gallons of ice cream at the store. but its all it the celebration. ice cream at a ball game for me is about as necessary as mustaches for the husband in may. tomato, tomatah.

we had a grand old time, take me out to the ball game at seventh inning stretch and all. oh and they won, yes they won in the very last moment of the ninth inning. happy summer husband.

story time

despite my efforts in trying to welcome a lovely beginning to yet another week, i failed mis.uh.rably i tell you. it was an awfully-wrotten-no-good-terrible-day. it went a little bit like this.

for one i was late, everywhere and all the day long. sometimes i think late is my middle name because regardless of how hard i try to leave early i never can make it on time. i wish someone secretly would reset the clocks in our home just 10 little minutes earlier with out me knowing. then i would have to be on time. how does that sound jake?

besides being late i broke the thumb drive that was in my computer by sliding it into my computer case without looking. who does that? oh yes, me that would be me over here! not only was i thumb driveless, i forgot to transfer the very important files that were on the memory stick to my computer, and i had already shredded the very important papers. still trying to solve this one.

humiliating enough that i shouldn't even repeat, i lost my phone yesterday, for hours. but i found her, found her indeed. where may you ask? oh just in my wallet! i put it there to be savvy and not have fifty things in my hands when i went to grab lunch. but of course lost my mind and couldn't remember where i put it. being genius as i am i knew i could turn my car on to see if the blue tooth worked, surely it did so i deliberately tore the car apart in every which way and form until i decided that if i needed to use my phone i would just call from the car. it was the biggest pain in the rear end but i did it, until i found it and then laughed a little to myself when i found it.

yet amongst all of this i was able to visit my lash gal/therapist sophie, who even escorted me to the bathroom with my eyes closed. for those of you who don't know, you can't open your eyes while taped closed during a lash session/therapy session. i meekly whispered to sophie that i couldn't hold it any longer so she held my hand like a two year old and walked me all the way to the toilet and then came back in to assist me while i attempted to wash my hands. we had a good laugh and i think i'll keep my vision as long as i can, so grateful i can see.

just when i though the awfully-wrotten-no-good-terrible-day would never end it got so much better. and i feel silly for thinking it was so terrible in the first place.

i got to take my little pup to play at her favorite park (really it's mine because its the closest) and we met some cute little friends who decided that they wanted to throw the ball the entire time for lucy and that is just heaven for me.

then the husband turned the whole day around and took me on a little fhe outing to barnes and noble. one of my most favorite things ever, like ever ever. he is cute and i don't say that enough, sorry to get all married on you. anyways, we read and made ourselves feel smart and then spent a whopping fifty dollars on books, but i'm ok if we spend lots of money on books.

on top of that we went out to eat which is always a happy thing especially given the circumstance of the day. we even got to eat outside which made my meal that much better, except for me forgetting to ask for shredded lettuce. and then to top it off we got to talk with friends and have a lovely conversation with them. so the day actually ended with a happily ever after. thank heavens. the end.

m.i.a.

what do you do when both of your jobs take the day off?
celebrate!
it's always good to wake up in the morning with a little text that first tells you to come in late, and then a phone call to let you know you are not needed in.

i'm off to do some afternoon shopping, a little dinner, concert with the mr. and a promised ice cream stop.
therefore i don't have the time to blog my little thoughts. i'm going to enjoy this lovely day off.
hope your thursday is lovely too!

pizza for lovers

i really can't believe it's only thursday.
yesterday felt like friday, so my little brain is very confused and is already switching to weekend mode. maybe because valentines was so early in the week. or maybe because it's going to be a lovely four day weekend spent doing exactly what i please: husband time.

these photos are a little overdue, almost two weeks from a fun pizza night we had with friends.we made some d.e.licous pizzas call us pizzeria cooke hehe. it was actually the night that jake tore his knee so we look extra purty due to spending the greater part of the afternoon in the hospital. and poor poor husband, he was sad and was in major pain but he acted happy. thank you pain meds, we promise we won't take advantage of you.

on a side note, we have uhmazein friends. i may say this all the time, but i really feel like we've won the lottery lately because we've had hardly a dull moment. aaannd what's even better is that we have an upcoming mexican riviera (sounds so chic) cruise with some of these lovelies, we are excited.

jackpot

three things i learned this weekend. not in order of event, but all individually something i'd like to remember.

i'm a stellar game player. not just your typical game, i'm talking arcade games. the games where you pour endless amounts of money into a slot. a little different then gambling, but i'm thinking i'd be pretty good at that too just sayin. the machines that take your nickel spiraling down a twisted road while you hope and pray you land on red or black. really you want black because that means jackpot but red will do just fine too because that means ten tickets, and that's like two whole jolly ranchers in trade. let me tell you something, i am good at these games, just ask husband. i think i exceeded a new level of impressing him when i scored five jackpots throughout the night. no big deal. you wouldn't think it possible but guess what it was. and it was awesome for us.

husband is not a procrastinator. it is lucky and really the biggest blessing for our future babes because i am such a procrastinator. i'm that girl who throws something together basically as its due, not a shining moment for me. gluing at 4 am, quizzing five minutes before the test, throwing the salad together as everyone is dishing up the main course, oh i don't know maybe blogging for the day at 9 pm. but this guy not a procrastinator, he's got it all figured out. he's the guy who comes home from school and sits in his office to study for four hours like it's nbd and he is also the guy who finishes a paper the week before it is due, it's a fine trait of his i've just recently discovered. so i impress him with my game playing skills and he makes me fall in love with him all over again when he's so on top of his studies. we're really a match made in heaven.

i tend to laugh in dangerous situations. isn't that kind of the opposite thing you should do? friday i was in a car on my way up a majorly snowy and somewhat steep road and we began to spin. to the right, to the left, back to the right, then a 180 to the left and then down the hill into, luckily, a snow bank. 1 mile later and we would've been off the cliff of the mountain. rather then screaming or being calm i laughed. giggled in fact and then when we were stuck i laughed really hard. it wasn't kosher to be honest, but hey i took light of a situation and din't make the driver feel uncomfortable which was probably best.

four year olds don't forget. words of advice-don't make promises unless you plan to keep them because four year olds will remember. four year olds will also remember when you don't close your eyes in the prayer, four year olds will remember when you sneak a treat with out giving them any, four year olds will remind you when you have "something on your face" (oh that's just a zit wait ten years or so and you will experience the joy four year old), and four year olds will most definitely remind you that you promised a ctr ring to them if they completed your challenge. so don't expect them to forget because you won't get away with it. i love my primary babes they are a huge highlight of my week every week.

christmas tree: check

last night we ventured down the robinson's tree farm to get ourselves a christmas tree.
i have to say that it was much different then hunting for one in the mountains...
i wast feeling too hopeful until we came across the "fresh cut" trees not the farm trees.

after some searching and discussing we found the perfect tree.
i absolutely love it and it smells so stinkin good
who doesn't love the smells of christmas?

we loaded the tree on the good ol' mustang.
(ok well we watched as they did the work for us)
and after almost losing it on the way home, we got it up and it looks so wonderful.
(that's what happens when you tie a xmas tree to a convertible)

we spent the rest of the night putting up some of our decorations but still have some work to go.
it's beginning to look a lot like christmas in our home!

black.out

part of our halloween festivities included the utes blackout game.
it was cold.
so don't judge my "egg" head.
the name husband coined for me.

i love him

thank heavens we won.
we love the utes always but were getting a little discouraged.

i love date nights. thank you for taking me to john mayer last week, i couldn't have enjoyed anything more. our summer nights are disappearing and fall is so soon around the corner, and while that makes me so sad...we have so much to look forward to this fall! xo you make me so happy.
