it's been two

time flies, it does.
but then again when people ask me if i feel like it's been two years i feel like i don't remember life not being married.
but it just gets sweeter with time.

happy anniversary to you husband.
i love you, i do.

take me out to the ball game

yesterday we celebrated the beginning of summer. you see the mr. has been out of school for about a week, but oh so sadly will be beginning yet another semester on monday. i'm proud of that man i tell you, i know he is duhhreading the fact that he will be in school during summertime but he is being quite pleasant about it. so back to summer, we celebrated with class and style with baseball and ice cream and somewhere in there was a very mustachey mustache. welcome to may in our family ladies and gents.

such is the love i have for my husband that i have agreed to attend baseball games and allow hairy faces, oh the grandeur. when the mr. asked if ice cream was necessary, i responded politely with a firm yes and gallivanted off to buy my $5.75 cone, in which i could purchase two gallons of ice cream at the store. but its all it the celebration. ice cream at a ball game for me is about as necessary as mustaches for the husband in may. tomato, tomatah.

we had a grand old time, take me out to the ball game at seventh inning stretch and all. oh and they won, yes they won in the very last moment of the ninth inning. happy summer husband.

here goes nothin

i'm low on photos can you tell? but i do love this photo of husband and my mom from the weekend
the mr. has been wearing my socks the past two days, unmatched
what is he thinking? i love my crazy socks, a lot.
and his feet are much bigger then mine
good thing i love the man

he is also away at the library
so i probably won't get to see him tonight
kind of ok because i need to get things done
and with him around it's quite impossible

except lucy has promised to follow me around all day every day
with a toy most likely a ball
or a bone, or a shoe, or whatever she may find
maybe that is why she is my best friend and my house looks the way it does

i've decided i still don't know what i was thinking when i decided we should just go look at puppies
she stole my heart but i'm quite alright with it, because she is pretty fun

this is why i am in love...

last night, husband taught me about the economy and the stock market.
something (in my personal opinion) which could compete to be the most boring topic, ever.
but nothing was more darling then watching my cute husband teach me about hedge funds and stocks.
because of course a girl like me should really know her terminology

i'm still so confused, and i don't know if i ever will not be
but while i was ever so bored listening to him tell me about earning reports
i couldn't help but to smile because i loved that he thought it would be important for me to know
so while he talked my ear off i realized that

i am in love....
with a hedge fund, stock loving, economy fascinated man who wants to be a dentist
yes, yes i am.

hello

the husband sent me this while laying in bed next to me.
from our "family" email address that he insisted on making for us, because we are a little family and we need one now. just a little
"hello"
this is why i married him, so i could giggle all my days at his silliness and his love notes.

p.s. send a little "hello" and tell someone you love them just because.

luck

do you consider yourself a lucky one?

some say i'm lucky
like this friend of mine.
(it's been a running joke for years)

perhaps it's the irish in me
that is what my mother would say.
my dad would say:
it's being in the right place at the right time,
others might just laugh.

there have been times where i've felt a little lucky.
like finding a .twenty.dollar bill on the sidewalk and marrying husband.

and then there is husband, who is just down right lucky.
always
 it's kind of annoying really.
he doesn't have to think too hard about things and then next thing you know it he's a pro
 one of his swooning traits.
(i hope our babes get that from him)

but i'm feeling lucky lately.
taking some chances and seeing where i end up.
after all march is nearly over.

p.s. can you tell i was in love with the sunsets this weekend. i don't even have pictures to justify.
and i always die when i see husband in his "fancies" a.k.a. church clothes oh me oh my!

i really love this guy

i do. a lot.
so happy he's on the road to a speedy recovery.
(husband had ouchy surgery this morning on his knee)

he's been a rockstar.
the sweetest patient to nurse back to health.
we've spent the afternoon snuggling in bed,
i think i'll just stay here all weekend long.
it's not often you get times to just relax with the one you love.

happy friday!

a little letter

it's monday, oh monday.

you are supposed to read that like this: "ohhhhhhhhhhh monnday." today i'm caught with lots of thoughts. i've been rather quite as my mind is talking to itself.

you see husband had a ski incident on friday and hurt himself. he likes to spin high in the sky on the ski slopes and it doesn't always result happily. he is sad and i am sad because he is sad. but he's been one good sport while i try to take care of him. he has a long recovery ahead of him so i kind of want to say this to him:

hey husband,

i'm sorry you are hurting, but everything will work out. you will get through this because you are amazing and one of the strongest and hardest working people i know. oh and i need to mention how proud of you i am. you have been a stud. you have been kind, and thoughtful, and tried to be patient even though you are frustrated. thanks for being such a wonderful husband and my number one fan. i'm going to rub your feet, make you yummy meals, ice your knee, drug you up, and get you back to your happy healthy self. so be happy because i love you and i'm here for you every step of the way.

xo,
wifey

p.s. sorry for the somberness of this post. i didn't mean for it to come off this way so i will have something bright and cheery on the docket next!

do you ever?

breakfast: noun- a meal eaten in the morning, the first of the day.
oh but not in our home. we like breakfast for the last meal of the day. this is one of those really proud wife moments when my starving husband asks what is for dinner and i hold up a loaf of great harvest bread and state, while asking for approval, "french toast?" it was a long day at work. so we put on my favorite aprons and rocked out to adele in the kitchen while we cooked, ahem while jake cooked french toast. nothing better then nights like these.

if it were my way i may possibly request breakfast food for every meal of the day, this has nothing to do with the fact that it is simple, or the fact that husband usually cooks these nights, ok maybe it does but look at him he loves it. and it's d.e.licious. and when husband is the chef you know you can throw healthy out the window because you are most definitely going to get extra cinnamon sugar and extra extra syrup. the stuff that is really good for you. do you ever have breakfast for dinner?

i really am

so glad that husband exists.

i just spent a few minutes watching this darling video of a very happy reunion. watching it gave me chills just thinking of the day when jake came home after two years. i know it seems silly but the day he came home ties close to first for the happiest day of my life. (obvi the other being our wedding day). i think they are so close because with out that day i wouldn't have my wedding day at all.

nothing can explain the contrast of feelings i felt that day. nervous beyond belief yet more excited then ever. questions going through my head yet nothing to say at all. too much time to waste but coming way too fast. i was a serious mess: sweaty palms, shaky hands, giggles, tummy aches, phone calls, texts, and tears.

it wasn't until i saw him that i realized how hard it had been to live with out him. yet i wouldn't have changed it for the world. we grew, we loved, and we learned. somedays i wish i could re-live that moment over and over again.

then i remember he's mine to keep for ever and ever. and i'm just so glad he exists, because if not i don't know where i would be. cheesy i know but he's become absolutely everything to me.

happy friday! make sure to spend time with those you love.

wind storms and birthday boy

we've had an exciting past 36 hours around our home.

to start off we woke up at 3:45 am because of the loud wind and took a look outside.
our convo went something like this:

jake: is that bad?
me: i think so. what is that?
(i was really tired and i think i mean where did that come from)
jake: its a tree

so we woke up that morning to see this:

lovely.

and around the neighborhood this:

later that afternoon they clipped, yes clipped the power line...and walked away.
apparently it can't be fixed until today. great.
no power.

when i started to complain, this was jake's response
"it will be fun, you can blog about it" haha
so here i am making the most of our exciting night
with no power.

but to the important news...
it's husbands birthday today!
23.

this was really why i was frustrated with out power.
i needed to wrap presents, i couldn't make any food (no breakfast in bed), and we were sleeping on the floor, and our house was cold, cold like 54 degrees cold.

but it was a fun adventure.
we lit all our candles, laughed as we stumbled to find things in the dark, and munched on anything that didn't need prep or came from a fridge.

happy birthday jake!
i love you so much. i'm so so lucky to have you as my husband.

not much of a breakfast in bed...i did my best.

opening presents by the fire, the only warmth we had.

dear: birthday

last week was husbands 22 birthday. our first time celebrating his birthday being married AND his first birthday home. everything is extra special for these two reasons. here is how the day played out. unfortunately i have little pictures to show it, and my rhyming skills are far from perfection.

Breakfast in bed: happy birthday to you, today is the day where we celebrate just you! The day is all yours...I will not let you bore, breakfast in bed I think that's enough said.

Gift number 1: Well this should be fun, you may recognize them, but I know you'll sure enjoy them. Now off to school to study, when you're home they'll be an awaiting buddy. ( I gave him these, and when he was home jason was waiting for him...)

Gift number 2: What do we say about you? I think it's that time where we take a break from this rhyme...head up to park city, i think this will look real pretty! (I got him his new Oakley ski suit and he and Jason hit the slopes)

Gift number 3: could it be? open the box...there you'll find your ? box?? (while jake was at football I had his xbox set up for him. i know i know, silly, but he wanted it...AND it plays our netflix and blue ray movies so we are both pleased!)

Now for your last gift, I just have to say-I love you lots and lots more each and every day! Let's take off for the weekend, the Park City Marriott we'll stay...dinner, massages, movies, skiing, deserts, and hot tubbin. Starting the big 22 with all the things you love to do!

That night we had some of Jakes friends, family, companions, etc. for cake and ice cream after we spent a delightful dinner at Flemmings steak house mmm mmm good. I think he was pleased, and I am relieved it is over!
